A drive to the southernmost tip of New Jersey from Atlantic City allows you to see some of the best coastline the state has to offer including fine examples of boardwalks, historic architecture and natural habitats. There are some superb diversions inland including horseback riding and hiking. Summer can be busy on the roads so it can be advisable to visit in Spring or Autumn to avoid the crowds.

A drive to High Point State Park at 1800 feet above sea level provides stunning views of the Kittatinny Mountains. To go just a little higher, you can climb the 200 or so stairs to the top of the Monument. In the autumn the area turns gold and crimson as the leaves start to fall. New Jersey known as The Garden State for good reason!
