The Gateway region is in Northeast NJ. There are historic homes, gardens, golf courses, gardens, hiking trails and picnic areas here.

This region is adjacent to NYC so you can take cruises to Ellis Island where the Statue of Liberty is located.

It is a cultural center with fine dining at a variety of ethnic restaurants, shopping, theaters, entertainment, art galleries, museums and historic sites.  There are art and music festivals here.

There are six counties contained within this region. They are: Union, Passaic, Middlesex, Hudson, Essex and Bergen.

Secaucus has designer outlet stores.

Newark museum is located at 49 Washington St. in downtown Newark's art district and has an art collection from around the world. Here you will find the Dreyfuss Planetarium, a zoo, a Victorian mansion, the Ballantine house, a shop and cafe.
