NJ Skylands region has rolling farmland with farms that offer fresh vegetables. To get a better view of the beautiful landscape, go hot-air ballooning along the Delaware River. Dine at some of the finest restaurants around. The region is 2 hours from Philadelphia or NYC.
Art and Antiques are found throughout the region. Tour local wineries and breweries. Other activities here include: horseback riding, crafts, exhibits, tobogganing, ballooning, train rides, festivals and lots more.
There are 5 counties contained in this region. They are: Warren, Sussex, Somerset, Morris and Hunterdon. The Delaware Water Gap is located here too.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is 40 miles along the Delaware River. It is apart of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. There are lots of streams, valleys, waterfalls and wildlife. You can go canoeing, hiking, swimming, fishing and camping here. Nearby is the Lakota Wolf Preserve in the Kittatinny mountains. You can view Timber, Tundra and/or Artic wolves here from observation areas. Guided tours are available. Located near Columbia NJ.
Duke Farms is the country estate of the Duke family. It is located in Hillsborough NJ on 80 Rt. 205 south. Here your will find a country manor, an estate park, an indoor display of gardens, wildlife, nature paths, classes and programs. The gardens have themes from around the world. Tours are available.
Frenchtown has shops,, boutiques art galleries with exhibits by local artists.
Hope NJ is where you will find the Land of Make Believe Water and Amusement Park off Rt. 80 exit 12.
Morristown National Historic Park is the location of one of George Washington's headquarters during the American Revolution. It is located in Morristown NJ. There are museums, shops and historic landmarks throughout the town.
Lambertville is the antique capital of NJ. Go antique shopping. Visit a specialty shop or an historic home here.
Mountain Creek Waterpark is located in Vernon 200 Rt. 94. The water park is carved out of the side of a mountain so the slides are quite steep.
Wildlife Refuges
Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is near Basking Ridge in Morris County. White tail deer, mink, beaver, fox, coyote and more wildlife live here. Over 222 species of birds live here too. You can bike or hike. Go bird watching.
Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge is in Sussex County. Go hiking, canoeing, birding and fishing. There are 225 species of birds here.
Ken Lockwood Gorge Wildlife Management area is located in High Bridge in Hunterdon County. Fish for Trout, Bass, Sunfish and more.
