Skiing New Jersey

Go skiing in Northern New Jersey. Many of the ski resorts are in the Skylands (NW) region. A few ski areas are in the Gateway region (NE).

In New Jersey, state law requires children under 18 years of age to wear helmets while skiing and/or snowboarding. The law goes into effect November 2011.

Skylands Northwestern New Jersey Ski Areas

Mountain Creek in Vernon is consider a premier ski resort. The resort offers skiing, snowboarding, night skiing and ski rentals. It is partially handicapped accessible.

Hedden Park is located in Dover. Go cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing. It is handicapped accessible.

Tourne Park is located in Denville. Go sledding, cross country skiing. It is partially handicapped accessible.

Silas Condict Park is located in Kinnelon. Go cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing. It is handicapped accessible.

Loantaka Brook Reservation is located in Morris. Go cross country skiing.

Patriots Path is located in Morris. Go cross country skiing.

Mennen Sports Arena is located in Morristown. Go ice skating and play ice hockey.

Traction Line Recreation trail is located in Morristown. Go cross country skiing.

Hidden Valley is located in Vernon. There are 12 slopes, 3 lifts, a 620 foot vertical drop. Go skiing, snowboarding, night skiing, rent ski equipment, take lessons. The resort has snow making machines.

Schooley's Mountain park is located in Washington township. Go cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, hockey.

Gateway Northeastern New Jersey Ski Areas

Campgaw Mountain Ski Center is located in Mahwah. There are 8 trails, 5 lifts and a 275 Vertical drop. The center offers ski rentals, lessons, snow making. Go skiing, night skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
